I’m not one for sitting in one place for too long, and Lord knows, I’m prone to last minute shifts in direction, so the following should come as no surprise.
After nearly four years spent writing under pen names, I’ve decided to take the plunge and publish stories slated for the Isobel Fletcher pen name under my own name, C.D. Watson.
I know. Shocker.
I always thought that if I published anything under my own name, it would be Southern Literature or something, but no. As soon as the thought occurred to me, I knew it was the right decision to make.
What can you expect for stories produced under my own name?
For the moment, slow releases. I’m still winding up stories under my other names and have a slew of short stories I’d like to try to publish in magazines first.
A couple of stories are different. Some of you may already be familiar with Romancing the Weird, which I intended to bridge the gap between the Romances I wrote under Lucy Varna and V.R. Cumming, and the Weird Fiction I’m transitioning into.
The first story for that anthology is finished and has already been narrated by the talented Rebecca Winder, who also narrated the Sunshine Walkingstick Series for me. I finished a second story, but have halfway decided to save it for a second Romancing the Weird volume. A third story has been promised to a publisher, but after that, I’ll get back on track and finish out the anthology, with the hopes of publishing it in the first half of 2018. (No promises, though.)
In the meantime, I’m working on a surprise for readers of all my pen names which will include a story written under this name. More on that soon.
